Wong Amat and Naklua are found in the North of Pattaya. It has a quieter nightlife than Pattaya, however Wong Amat has plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The beach is many peoples favourite as it very clean and sandy.
Wong Amat has arguably the best stretch of beach in Pattaya with its sandy beach and the clean blue sea it is a popular place for families and visitors. The beach has fewer hawkers and is a favorite for visitors and expats who wish to relax unbothered.
The main attraction in Wong Amat is the Sanctuary of Truth. This 105m tall wooden structure is an amazing spectacle. You have to see The Sanctuary of Truth to believe it.
North Pattaya is home to The Million Years Stone Park and Crocodile Farm. Here you can see Thai trained trees which are over 200 years old. The sight is also home to Thailand’s largest crocodile farm and this attraction is popular with Thai and foreign visitors all year round.
Pattaya Boxing World is also in the northern area of Pattaya. Here you can enjoy the famous Muay Thai boxing with events at least once a week. Next door is Mini-Siam home to miniature buildings of famous and special Thai landmarks.
If you are an animal lover you have a choice to visit Pattaya Sheep Farm; this is a great option for young families. Here you can feed sheep and other farm animals. For the braver visitor a trip to Pattaya Tiger Zoo is a fun afternoon out. Have you ever seen a pig and a tiger eating together? Well, you can see that at here!
Wong Amat and Naklua are famous for the North Pattaya Market. This huge market is estimated to have between 600 and 700 stalls. Located on Sukhumvit Road is always busy and has plenty of food stalls with many Thai dishes and snacks to choose fr om. Lots of tourists don’t make it to this market so it can be cheaper than some of the more famous markets in the city.
In Naklua there is also a sea food market with fresh fish and sea food. This opens early every day and is wh ere many of the locals buy there fish. It is an interesting market and it is a reminder of how not too many years ago Pattaya was a fishing village!
There is a Big C supermarket here too for groceries too. Next door is a shopping center with clothes shops and other choices.
Wong Amat and the local area have a great choice of breakfast restaurants and coffee shops alongside some fine dining choices and fast food outlets.
For lovers of French and Italian cuisine there is the beautiful La Ferm Restaurant at The Woodlands Hotel in Naklua. The steaks and pasta dishes are of the best you will find anywhere in Thailand. Also, at The Woodlands Hotel there is the delicious bakery La Baguette, here you will find the best bread, pastries and quiches in Pattaya.
For a romantic option a popular restaurant for couples is the Radius Restaurant. With its Seaview and extensive Thai and international menu you will not be disappointed.
Probably the most famous place to party in the Wong Amat is The Beach Club. Here you can enjoy cocktails or champagne looking out to the bay of Thailand. It is not cheap here and it is not unusual to bump into Thai celebrities either.
If the Beach Club is a little out of your budget have no fear. Naklua is home to many beer bars and one of the most popular is Barracuda Bar. It is a popular hangout with sports enthusiasts and you will find a mix of expats and tourists enjoying the atmosphere side by side.
